Historic Preservation Architect in Cary, NC

Cary, NC is located near the center of North Carolina, just outside of Raleigh. This historic town began to flourish in 1871 due to the railroad tracks running through the area. At one point in time, Cary, NC was accidentally spelled as “Carey”. One mistake led other businesses and maps to spread the incorrect name even further. The incorrectly spelled name lasted for years. Eventually the “Carey” spelling was phased out and the original name Cary, NC remained.

As a historic preservation architect, our work is similar to removing the incorrect “e” from “Carey”. We can look for what the original home design intended and restore the home to the original version. Our historic residential design can remove what was additionally added to homes. For example, our historic residential design team may discover a fireplace hidden behind a wall. It would be a shame to cover such a beautiful piece of history with a wall that may have been added 100 years after the original fireplace was constructed. Our historic residential design team can also design appropriate home additions that complement the original home architecture instead of detracting from it.
